Zones: USDA 4–9
Light: Partial shade to full sun; best foliage color in partial shade with morning sun. Afternoon shade recommended in hot climates (zones 7–9).
Water: Regular watering during establishment; drought-tolerant once established. Avoid waterlogged soil.
Soil: Well-draining, humus-rich soil; amend with compost at planting
Mature size: 12–18 inches tall and wide
Bloom time: Spring (April–June)
Division: Divide clumps every 3–4 years in spring or fall to maintain vigor; divisions establish quickly
